   As part of the Senior Leadership Team, I have responsibility for the strategic development of the school's support services ranging from building fabric to administrative staffing, and IT infrastructure including core business applications. I also have responsibility for all business aspects of the school and for implementing the government strategy for eLearning and eAssessment. Along with the IT subject teachers, I have developed aspects of the learning objectives and strategies for delivering them. Examples include:

   • Developing the school IT infrastructure to include, and educating staff in the use of: email, laptops, network storage and networked printing
   • Conversion of the communication system in school from analogue phones to VoIP
   • Overview of the £2.6 million Sports Hall and IT Centre construction
   • Restructuring of the administration and finance teams
   • Responsibility for the rebuilding of the Catering department
   • Streamlining school to parent communication through the creation of the website, email lists and RSS feeds
   • Streamlining the recording of pupil assessment data and progress reports

   Responsible for the design, implementation and development of the school's public website, online learning centre and internal services. Technologies used include XHTML, CSS, Javascript, PHP, ASP.net (1 and 2), MySQL, Microsoft SQL, LDAP, XML and Public Service APIs including Google, Yahoo, Twitter and Ma.gnolia. Examples of the services written include:

   • Darwin: User document management through a web interface.
   • Sherlock: Department Self Review application.
   • eInventory: A conversion of the spreadsheet based inventory into an online searchable system.
3. 2002 - 2004 Matt Harris Website Content Engineer Careers Service, University of York, Heslington Road, York, North Yorkshire, YO10 5DD, UK Work +44 (0)1904 432 685 Responsible for cleaning and converting the entire careers service website to a new design using CSS. The role also included the development of new content.
4. 1998 - 2004 Matt Harris Remote Network Administrator Eggar's School, London Road, Holybourne, Alton, Hampshire, GU34 4EQ, UK Work +44 (0)1420 541 194 Whilst studying at Alton College and the University of York I remotely administered the Eggar's School Network. Tasks included user management, service pack installation, configuration updates and software repacking and transform generation.

1. 2006 - 2007 Supplementary Studies School of Informatics, City University, London, England Studied modules in Data Mining, Neural Networks, and Evolutionary Computing
2. 2000 - 2004 Master of Engineering (MEng) University of York, England Read "Electronic and Computer Engineering" which included modules about Object Orientated Programming, Data Structures and Algorithms, Expert Systems, Java, Microprocessors, Circuit Theory, Satellite Communications and Business Management. The course is accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (formally the IEE)
3. 1998 - 2000 A-Levels Alton College, England Studied Maths, Electronics, Computing, and Physics
4. 2000 - 2002 University Bursary Royal Air Force, UK Awarded to applications who pass the Royal Air Force Officer selection programme at age 18.
5. 1998 - 2000 Sixth Form Scholarship Royal Air Force, UK Awarded to applications who pass the Royal Air Force Officer selection programme at age 15. The scholarship included a week long outdoor residential course in the Scottish Highlands.
6. 1998 - 1999 Flying Scholarship Royal Air Force, UK Awarded to applications who show aptitude and will gain the best advantage from learning to fly a twin seat aeroplane. After 12 hours of tuition I was flying the aircraft solo.

1. 2007 - present Matt Harris School Representative Alton Buckle; Extended Services Management Group, Bushy Leaze EYC Eastbrooke Road, Alton, Hampshire, GU34 2DR, UK Work +44 (0)1420 87 675 The group is responsible for the advertising and promotion of community and youth services in the local area, including those provided online. Currently I am producing a sign-posting website to help local residents find services and activities relevant to their lives.
2. 2006 Matt Harris Technical Representative Hampshire County Council; Learning Platform Steering Workshop, Parkway, 94-96 Wickham Road, Fareham, Hampshire, PO16 7JL, UK This is a group specially formed to identify the online learning needs of primary schools in Hampshire. The group defined a requirements specification for the selection of an Online Learning Platform provider and formed purchasing recommendations to the steering committee.
3. 2006 - present Matt Harris Chairperson Hampshire County Council EdICT; SIMS User Forum, Secondary, Parkway, 94-96 Wickham Road, Fareham, Hampshire, PO16 7JL, UK

   SIMS is one of the information management systems schools in the UK use to store all operational, staff and pupil level data. The User Forum represents all 71 secondary schools in Hampshire and is responsible for developing and managing software change requests, as well as internal marketing and education campaigns about features and upgrade preparation. The forum also has membership of the Capita Education Services software consultancy groups who meet to discuss the next software module versions.

   Schools across Hampshire lost confidence in the SIMS software when it changed from dBase to SQL and .Net however the User Forum has restored this confidence and is now marketing the importance of the product in the day to day running of schools.

4. 2006 - present Matt Harris Secondary Schools Representative Hampshire County Council EdICT; Capita Management Group, Parkway, 94-96 Wickham Road, Fareham, Hampshire, PO16 7JL, UK This is Hampshire's strategic and technical management group for the SIMS product. It is responsible for translating the problems experienced by users into meaningful change requests for the developers. The group also translates the developer advice and feedback into documentation relevant to the users.
5. 2005 - present Matt Harris Staff Governor Eggar's School; Governing Body, London Road, Holybourne, Alton, Hampshire, GU34 4EQ, UK Work +44 (0)1420 541 194 I was elected as the support staff representative and currently serve on the Finance and Personnel Committee, Student Discipline Committee and Full Governing Board. The Governing Body has ultimate responsibility for the performance of the school and for ensuring the policies, strategic plan and budget is managed appropriately by the Senior Leadership Team.
